Compost Bin Reviews

As the site has grown and I have given more compost bin reviews I thought it may be a good idea to give a recap of what I think is still the best composter. I have given a number of compost tumbler reviews now so there is a good range that can be chosen from. This is still my favorite composter and of all the compost bin reviews I have done, and also read, there really is little that can beat it.

Of course, if you are reading this looking for compost bin reviews then you must understand that it is not possible to review every type of compost bin available. There are literally thousands to choose from. What I can do however is give you a run  down of why compost tumblers in general are by far the best way to make compost. Especially if you want to make it quickly and with a minimum amount of fuss and effort.After reading just why they are so good at making compost then take a look at the many compost tumblers available by clicking on any image to the right or the Achla composting tumbler at the top left. Why A Compost Tumbler?

Here are just a few of the many many reasons why the compost tumbler is absolutely the best way to make compost.

• There is absolutely no mess. You don't get bits of organic matter all over the garden or spilling over the sides like you often do with a conventional compost bin.
• A totally sealed unit so there are no smells like with a normal compost bin.
• No vermin attacking the compost and spreading it everywhere. The fact that we have a selaed unit means that you are not attracting animals like with open compost bins.
• No need to keep turning a pile by hand like you do with a conventional compost heap or bin.
• Makes compost in a few weeks.
• You only need to turn a handle or flip the compost barrel to mix up the contents.
• No effort required.

These are just a few of the many reasons why compost tumblers win habds down when it comes to making compost in the best possible way. Other compost bins really don't compare.

It is a simple matter of adding organic matter whenever it is available. You then either turn the handle or rotate the whole barrel. This mixing and chopping really speeds up the whole composting process so dramatically it really does have to be seen to be believed. If you want to make fast compost or simply want to do it in a much more convenient manner then you really cannot beat the compost tumbler.

Assembling Urban Compost Tumblers

The urban compost tumbler comes in many different shapes, sizes and colors. While they are all fairly easy to erect and assemble sometimes a detailed explanation is worthwhile.

Some of the compost bin tumbler designs are easier than others to put together.
