The Best Value Composters

With so many different composters to choose from finding the best value composters can seem like a bit of a battle. It is extremely hard for people without the experience of using all the different makes and models to know just what will be the best one to choose.

Having spent many years trying out various forms of composting using a variety of different binds, containers, pallets etc I finally found what for many gardeners really is the absolute best value compost bins. The compost tumbler is by far the best possible way to make compost. It is super fast, very clean and without doubt the absolute best way to make quality compost in amazingly short periods of time.

Of course, they are by no means the cheapest way to make compost but because they make such good compost and do it so quickly they more than pay for themselves in a short space of time.

How?

Well, think about it. Nearly all of us as gardeners or vegetable growers will buy in soil for pots etc from a garden center or similar. These bags may not be expensive but the cost adds up over a few years. If you think about just how many of these or other things to improve soil that you have bought over the past few years you know that it actually adds up to quite a bit if money.

With a compost tumbler you can forget about ever having to buy in any soil for potting or to improve the ground. The compost tumbler makes quality compost in a matter of a few weeks so you always have a good steady supply of compost to use for whatever purpose you wish. Many people say that you need special soil for potting seedlings or for growing plants in containers but I disagree. I have been using my home made compost for years for growing plants in containers and it works exceptionally well. There is no need to ever buy soil again.

If you are not yet convinced then click on one of the composting tumbler images to the right and read all the compost reviews available. You will see just how efficient they are at making compost.

Advantages Of Compost Tumblers

The fact is that composting can be messy. If you have an open bin then animals are attracted and can make a real mess apart from being a nuisance in their own right. With a sealed container like a compost tumbler you do away with this problem. Normal barrels can become water logged and smelly and do not work very efficiently but a compost tumbler is different.

The contents do not become compacted and turn to sludge, it is well aerated and because of the tumbling action all the contents stay light and airy and never compact.

Apart from this we have the fact that as we turn the handle and rotate the contents we are evenly distributing the heat. This is always a problem with a conventional compost bin. We need to turn them manually if we want faster compost and for the compost to work evenly. With the compost tumbler you get perfect compost for everything that is in the drum. There are not any half composted pieces or anything like that, all of it composts the same and it is always a fine crumbly mix that you will never have seen the like of with traditional composting methods.

They really do have to be seen to be believed.

But the most important part is the fact that you can make compost in 2-3 weeks!

Unbelievable but true.
